Trusted Local Hearing Care Available For Milford, CT

Originally part of Wallingford, Cheshire, CT was settled in 1694, known as New Cheshire Parish, becoming an independent town in 1780. As an early settlement in New England, our community is home to several National Register of Historic Places sites, like the Cheshire Historic and Marion Historic Districts, the Farmington Canal Lock, and the First Congregational Church of Cheshire.

The Paugusset tribe of Native Americans made the area we now call Milford, CT their home thousands of years before members of the New Haven Colony began to purchase land from them in 1639. Taking advantage of water from the Wepawaug River, settlers built and operated a grist mill, leading to the town’s name.

During the Revolutionary War, the Milford section of the Boston Post Road was blockaded by Continental forces, leading to the building of Fort Trumbull. Our community was known for shipbuilding, farming, oystering, and some industrial facilities during the 19th century, as well as a beach resort for residents of New Haven and Bridgeport.

Milford Green is the site of the annual Oyster Festival each August, which has drawn large musical acts and thousands of visitors each year. Our reputation as a beach resort lives on in our rocky beaches, Silver Sands State Park, the Connecticut Audubon Society Coastal Center at Milford Point, Charles Island, two golf courses, numerous other recreational facilities, and the Walnut Beach Concert Series held every Sunday afternoon throughout the summer.

Better hearing adds to the enjoyment of our community’s beaches and historical sites, leading to a richer, more rewarding quality of life for residents and visitors.
